"The dream is a little hidden door in the
innermost secret recesses of the soul"
C G Jung
UUnravelling the inner language of our dreams reveals a potential inner source of wisdom offering help and guidance enabling us derive the highest potential of learning and healing from our dreams.
Dreams... transient, elusive and intangible have fascinated mankind since the dawn of time.
We all sleep. We all dream. The imagery of our dreams can be so bizarre, yet seem so real that it is no wonder we seek answers as to their purpose and meaning.
We alone create our dreams for our own reasons. We need to look inside ourselves for meanings and answers. Therefore when we understand our dreams we begin to understand ourselves. Dreams contain a potential inner source of wisdom offering guidance totally different from those found in the waking world. Dreams are not simply incoherent ramblings of a confused mind and once we accept that dreams are inner sources of help, that aspect of ourselves which produces them responds immediately.
Our dreams are full of symbols and dream dictionaries can give us the traditional symbolic meanings but beware. We are complex individuals and we need to learn our own inner language as well as understanding traditional meanings.
'But I don't dream!' Many people believe that they do not dream. They are wrong. Everyone dreams. Sleep laboratories have proved it over and over again. The 'non dreamer' simply does not recollect their dream - or else they are deliberately suppressing it...
Dr Carl Jung believed that dreams were compensatory mechanisms for restoring equilibrium to the mind. The role of the interpreter, he argued ,could be used therapeutically to make the individual whole and one avoids them at their peril.
