Where does the energy come from?
We are all familiar with the various forms of energy surrounding us such as electro-magnetism, heat and light. According to Einsteinian and quantum physics, the biochemical molecules that make up the physical body are actually a form of vibrating energy. Matter and energy are interconvertible and interchangeable (theory of relativity).
It is slowly becoming recognised by Western Science that the body is a complex energy system, not a biomechanism. For example, many doctors routinely order electrocardiograms - an interpretation of the vibrating electrical energy put out by the heart. The body uses different forms of energy in nutrition, information processing and maintaining health. It uses metabolic energy extracted from the foods we eat. This is converted into chemical energy. It also uses electrical energy via the nervous system.
Energy can be locked in the body in many different ways either in one or all of the above levels. Healers provide a channel for healing energies not from themselves, but from the Universal energy source. This energy balances and stabilises the individual, and kick starts the body's own self healing mechanisms.
The meridian system was first documentation in “The Yellow Emperor's Classic of Medicine” written in China some 4000 years ago. It was discovered that meridians conveyed the chi energy and that if the network became blocked it prevented the proper flow of the chi. The network radiates out from the chakras and main organs at a deep level to pass close to the surface of the skin where the acupuncture points are located.
Acupuncturists, yoga and tai chi practitioners, healers and reflexologists all use this ancient system to balance and to heal the body.
