Dream Analysis - Catherine Montgomery

A tarot reading will reveal your thoughts, feelings and motivations. It will tell you where you are now, where you have come from, where you would like to be and how to get there.

The Tarot is a pack of 78 cards which has existed in its current form since the 16th century. Although first used as a card game it was quickly adopted as a tool for divination and was popularised by occult societies such as the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn.

The origins of the Tarot are unknown. Some people link them to the oldest book known to man - the Book of Thoth, said to have been created by the jackal headed Egyptian God of Wisdom and Knowledge comprising all the accumulated wisdom of the Egyptian empire. Others link them to the Knights Templar, other to gypsies.

The Tarot is a book of symbols. The early symbolism of the cards was drawn from Medieval and Renaissance Europe but it has rapidly grown to incorporate many things such as the Runes, mythology, I Ching etc. Once you are familiar with the symbols the Tarot becomes a doorway to previously hidden knowledge and information. It can be used as a tool to facilitate physical, emotional, mental and spiritual growth and learning.

Today the Tarot has become the most popular form of Western divination. Divination is where one seeks guidance and spiritual understanding, and should be contrasted with fortune telling which is a much more irreverent and superficial look into the future.

Learn to read the cards for yourself! Teaching can also be done on a 1-2-1 basis. Please e-mail or telephone for further details. If you live locally these can be carried out in the comfort of your own home.

Tarot readings are arrangements of cards drawn from the shuffled and cut deck. The layout is known as a spread and determines what each card refers to. There are as many spreads as there are Tarot readers. The number of cards in each spread can vary enormously depending on the question asked or in the information sought.

The Tarot does not replace free will but can give us more information and insight upon which to base our decisions. It can highlight the causes of events and reveal hidden factors and so help us decide on the most suitable course of action.

It is a powerful and amazing tool.
